The Robertson Museum and Aquarium at FSC Millport

Situated within the grounds of FSC Millport (formerly University Marine Biological Station) is a unique museum, named in honour of David Robertson ‘The Cumbrae Naturalist’.  There is an associated aquarium where visitors can see some examples of the marine life which can be found around the island. There is a small charge for entrance, with concessions for children.

The museum exhibits illustrate the local marine habitats, features of the marine environment and the history of both the Marine Station and the Field Studies Council. The aquarium features inhabitants of the Firth of Clyde, a purely native marine aquarium. Get up close and personal with an array of marine creatures in the touch tanks or find out more about the diverse history of the Isle of Cumbrae, with dedicated staff on hand to bring them to life. There is something for all the family with new interactive displays and constantly changing exhibits.
