This is the 25th year of Millport Country Music Festival and it looks like being the best ever!
In addition to being Grammy award winning Saturday headliner Cam’s only Scottish appearance this summer, we have an unparalleled line up of US and UK country music talent for those lucky enough to snag tickets for this year’s event.
The festival will be held over the weekend of 30th August to 1st September 2019, with over 50 artists appearing on four stages, the grand parade, a dedicated line dancing venue, great food and drink, funfair and much more, all in the gorgeous town of Millport, right next to the award-winning Newton Beach. There really is something for everyone.
Extensive camping and glamping facilities will be available at Millport Golf Club, with transport to enable those who don’t fancy a short walk to and from the festival grounds to fully enjoy the proceedings. An extended ferry service has also been arranged with Calmac Ferries, On Friday 30th August, the last ferry will be at 10.30pm leaving Cumbrae Slip. On Saturday 31st, CalMac Ferries will operate an extended service; you must be at Cumbrae Slip no later than 10.30pm if you wish to travel. On Sunday 1st September, the last ferry will be at 8.30pm leaving Cumbrae Slip.
Last ferry on Friday night at 10.30pm requires vehicles to book with the Largs office on 01475 674134, no requirement for foot passengers to book.
The stage schedules have been arranged so that all of the Nashfield concert stage performances finish early evening thereby giving loads of time to see the headliners, fully enjoy the festival and still catch a ferry.
The music will cover the broad range of today’s Country and Americana genre from the legend that is Sydney Devine and Scotland’s Eagles tribute ‘Hotel Caledonia’, through singer-songwriters to country pop and rock acts from all over the US and UK, and even local choir, The Upbeats from Largs, singing a 30 minute set of country and pop gems on the Sunday. On the Saturday, many of the artists playing the festival will get together for an Acoustic Jam in the Maverick venue to play whatever they feel like playing together. This will be a unique experience!
The Millport Emerging Talent Showcase is back again this year and will take place on Sunday 1st September, with ten talented up and coming artists having the opportunity to play a festival stage and show the world what they can do. There have been many, many applications to play the Showcase, so the standard promises again to be very high.
This is a festival not just for country fans, but for everyone who enjoys a good time in a lovely, safe environment.
